Systemic psychotherapy

The systemic psychotherapy that we provide uses techniques that are rooted in different theoretical approaches: systems theory, cognitive and behavioral theories, relational and attachment theories. It is intended for families, individuals and couples that wish to improve their interpersonal skills and communication as well as to resolve problems in relationships. It helps families and couples resolve the critical moments that make the family members and couples feel helpless and stuck. It helps families rediscover their abilities and strengths to provide a secure environment for all the family members, to resolve conflicts, to find new ways of dealing with changes in the family due to loss, illness, and trauma. It helps parents improve their parenting skills and helps them deal with different maturational problems of their children.  It helps couples reflect on their relationship and find new modes of relating to each other. It helps couples either improve their relationship or find the least painful and traumatic way to end it without unresolved feelings of anger and revenge that may have devastating consequences on their offspring.
The process of therapy varies in its intensity and length depending on the presenting problem and motivation for change. It may take just one or a couple of sessions to make a difference and promote change, or it may take a couple of months or years in case the presenting problems are more complex.
